Welcome to the LBJ Express web site. We hope that you will utilize this site as an important resource for up-to-date activity during construction and operations of the project.
Once completed, the LBJ Express Project will feature some of the most innovate congestion management solutions in the country. By employing new tolled TEXpress Lanes we will offer drivers a choice in thier daily commute. By providing variable tolled lanes, the LBJ Express will allow drivers to maintain a more predictable rate of speed. The idea is CHOICE! You have new, safer non-tolled lanes, fully optimized frontage and brand new TEXpress Lanes that will offer you a convent trip from one end of the project to the other.
The LBJ Express Project will add two of these TEXpress Lanes on I-35E northbound and southbound. On LBJ Freeway, we will add continuous frontage, safer non-tolled Main Lanes (four in each direction) and the new TEXpress Lanes - three in each direction.
The Beat the Traffic® real-time planning tool below highlights lane/ramp closures, incidents and traffic speeds so that you experience a reliable and safe trip in the corridor. Please click here to see more instructions on how the traffic map works. We also invite you to visit our lane closures page for regular, detailed updates.
All of us at the LBJ Express encourage you to "Know before you go and drive safely in our workzones!"
